Colonial Fox Theatre Foundation Receives Kansas Creative Arts Industries Commission Grant In partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts To support Strategic Investment in the Arts

The Kansas Creative Arts Industries Commission, in partnership with the National Endowment for the Arts, is awarding The Colonial Fox Theatre Foundation, a grant of $1,126.00 to support their strategic investment in the arts and continuing education of their staff.

“All Americans should have access to the arts,” said Mary Anne Carter, acting chairman of the National Endowment for the Arts. “Grants such as this one to The Colonial Fox Theatre Foundation are an important part of the National Endowment for the Arts’ work to ensure people in communities both large and small across the nation have the opportunity to experience the arts.”

Leslie Lackamp, Board Member of the Colonial Fox Theatre Foundation relays: “This KCAIC/NEA grant to the Colonial Fox will fund, in part, our participation in the League of Historic America Theatres National Conference, which was held on July 13 through 17, 2019. The League’s national conference is the largest annual gathering of historic theatre professionals, community leaders, and service providers and suppliers. Professionals, volunteers and devotees join together to focus on identifying and sharing the tools, techniques and technologies required to sustain historic theatres as the centers of their communities.”

The Colonial Fox Theatre is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization, whose mission is to restore the historic Colonial Fox Theatre to be an enduring dynamic cultural center enriching the quality of life and economic vitality of Pittsburg and surrounding communities.
